Bengi Durgun
I was born in Ankara.
After graduating from TED Ankara College in 1977, I attended Middle East Technical University.
I got my degree in Architecture in 1981.
I received M.S. in Building Science and Environmental Design, from M.E.T.U. as well in 1984.
I worked as a research assistant in the Faculty of Architecture during my graduate studies, and later on as an architect at TUBITAK, Building Research Institute, Ankara.
After marrying in 1985, my husband Levent ( who served as the treasurer in the previous board and helped maintain the FTAA web site ), and I, came to U.S., lived in Colombus, OH.
We are relocated to Vienna, Austria in 1986,  where we lived for two years.
Later on we moved to Brussels, Belgium in 1988. We lived there for twenty seven years. I worked voluntarily as the Turkish Representative in the International School of Brussels for twelve years, my main goal being to introduce and promote our culture, and help out newcomer families from Turkey to easily adopt to life in Brussels.
After Levent’s retirement from N.A.T.O. we moved back to Ankara. Since 2013 we enjoy living in Florida.
Turkish, being my native language, I speak fluently English, and have a good knowledge of French and Spanish.
We have a son, married, living in Istanbul.
