Festival gelir-gider
The Festival was reviewed by both the Board and the Festival Committee.
Group: Decided to look into new dates in April 2014 for new dates since there were fewer people who
attended this past year’s festival.
April 12-13 2014 seem available for the moment.
It was expressed that we have more internal and external publicity .Mailings must be done.
We should start planning before the summer.
There should be no tickets for sale of foods.
No more entertainment at the Turkish House on the second day.
Must do a review with the new committee.
Look for alternative venues like Young Circle in Hollywood.
Find a holiday that it is near for Turks to come out and celebrate.
We should give volunteers something for their service.
Police should refund their money only one showed up.
Brochure should be cancelled. Or produced one month ahead of time.
We should give this festival to a professional company for them to organize it next time.
We should do a survey to find out what our members thought about it.
In April we should have a Folklor Festival, or bring in a famous singer like Ege or Selda Bagcan.
We should thank Behzat Bey for the accommodation.
FO: Expressed that the New Year’s Party was successful.
FO Asked Alp about the Saturday Night Social Party- Alp said they will first ensure that the 10$paid at
the door pays the expenses of the alchohol.
ZUA: Asked about the Art Exhibit mechanisms, it was approved.
ZUA: Asked about the laptop for the FTAA chorus, approved.
VU: Asked if the chorus pays 100$/person, Zeynep will ask.
ZUA: Asked about the Folklore Club, approved.
OB: Asked for her resignation, not approved.
ZUA: Fusun Erim was chosen to become the new FTAA Chorus Coordinator by the FTAA Chorus
Members.
Group: Said we don’t need to worry about the March elections in Turkey since we cannot participate in
them.
We will talk about the opportunities for members of the Chambers and Members of FTAA for leveraging
their businesses in the Turkish American Community.
And also discuss the possibility of having a Turks Like Us Network Challenge-Turkish American Meeting
in March with the children of the retired families who reside here in South Florida, who aim to challenge
younger Turkish Americans to become involved as budding leaders in our community.
