Guest Speaker Mr. Burak Kuntay gave us a lecture about the Turkish American relations

Muhtar Kent, President and CEO of Coca Cola, Co. who was a keynote speaker at University of Miami’s “Global Business Forum” met with Florida Turkish American Association board members and listened to their remarks about Turkish American community’s ongoing activities. Muhtar Kent who is originally from Turkey was selected to run the Coca Cola Co, in July of 2008. When members from FTAA and FTCF wanted to meet with him at the reception cocktail, he welcomed to be informed about the upcoming events, which includes the newly purchased Turkish Center planned to be opened early summer 2009. The group invited Mr. Kent to the grand opening of the Turkish Center and he replied that he would try to create time to visit the Center in the near future.

Muhtar Kent (born in 1952), is an American businessman, of Turkish descent, who is currently President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Coca-Cola Company. He was appointed to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Company in 2008.
Muhtar Kent was born 1952 in New York City, New York, USA as his father Necdet Kent, was the Turkish consul-general. His father was called "Turkish Schindler" for risking his life to save Jews during World War II. After completing the high school at Tarsus American College in Mersin, Turkey in 1971, Muhtar Kent went to the United Kingdom to study at the University of Hull, and graduated in 1978 from the Department of Economics. Subsequently, he attended the graduate program in administrative sciences at the City University, London and earned his MBA degree at the Cass Business School.
Muhtar Kent returned then to Turkey to attend active military duty. Following his military service, he moved with US$1,000 in the pocket to the United States, where he was accommodated by his uncle in New York City.
