The Knight Foundation sponsorluğunda, Ft Lauderdale'deki Cinema Paradiso'da devam etmekte olan "Around the World in 80 Nights" etkinliği çerçevesinde, Florida Türk Amerikan Derneği (FTAA) ile Greater Ft Lauderdale Sister Cities International(GFLSCI) kuruluşlarının ortak organizasyonu ile, yönetmenliğini Emre Şahin’in yaptığı 40 adlı filmin gösterimi 26 Ocak, 2010 Salı akşamı, saat 17:30’da Cinema Paradiso da yapılıyor. Filmin başrollerini Deniz Çakır, dünyada büyük yankı uyandıran "Heroes" dizisi oyuncularından Ntare Mbaho Mwine ile Ali Atay paylaşıyorlar.
Etkinlik ücretsiz olup, herkese açıktır.
Program 5:30pm de başlayacak olup, 6:15pm de kısa bir oryantal dans gösterisi, ardından Türkiye ile ilgili kısa bir tanıtım filmini takiben saat 7pm de film gösterilecektir. Film Türkçe olup, İngilizce alt yazılıdır ve süresi 87 dakikadır. Cinema Paradiso'ya ait bardan içki satın alınabileceği gibi, geliri FTAA nın kültürel faaliyetleri yararına kullanılmak üzere, arzu edenler için Türk yemekleri de satışa sunulacaktır.
Yönetmen Emre Şahin hakkında:
İstanbul doğumlu genç yönetmen Emre Şahin bir çok ödül sahibi yönetmen ve sinematograf olup, Amerika’da Emerson College’da sinema okuduktan sonra, gıpta edilen Panavision bursunu kazanıp dünyanın en önde gelen fotoğraf yöneticilerinden eğitim aldı.
ABC, ABC Family, MTV, VH1, Travel Channel, Food Network, TLC, Discovery Channel ve History Channel gibi kanallarda gösterilen pek çok programın yanı sıra belgesellerde de yönetmenlik yaptı. Emre, History Channel tarihinde en fazla izlenen 5 diziden biri olan "Cities of the Underworld" dizisini yarattı, yönetti ve yönetici yapımcılığını yaptı.
